The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) works internationally to showcase the world’s most glamorous, poised and stunning women to provide them with an opportunity to serve as spokeswomen for various cause alliances.

Titleholders have gone on to high profile careers in government, business, finance, broadcasting, as well as film and television. National Event in Sri Lanka to Select our delegate to participate at Miss Universe
Essential Entertainment, in collaboration with Revlon Lanka Private Limited and joint media organizations will organize and present Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2016 in August to the highest standards of event production, and will open the door to a myriad of opportunities for savvy, goal-oriented young Sri Lankan women striving to represent her country by claiming the coveted Miss Universe Title.

Miss Universe 2016 Event Plan
Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2016 will take place across a period of 2 months, from July to August 2016. This will be segmented as follows:
Individuals will be invited to apply and be interviewed by judging panel comprising of professionals and well-known personalities in the fashion and beauty industry in Colombo. The selection process will narrow down the 14 participants of Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2016.
Makeover The makeover will be conducted by Revlon beauticians. Each of the 14 participants will receive training in hair and make-up techniques.

TrainingCatwalk training will be conducted by Lou Ching Wong well-known catwalk choreographer and producer, and the participants will undergo an intensive pageant training program, inclusive of Fitness training and professional & Social skills.

The 12 finalists will participate in PR events such as photoshoots, CSR projects, supplemental events and mini pageants.
The finale will be an exclusive, invitation-only 2-hour event. The winner will represent Sri Lanka at the prestigious Miss Universe pageant to be held in the USA later this year.
Who will be Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2016?The title that celebrates everything about women will once again crown a confident and glamorous young lady to represent Sri Lanka at the prestigious Miss. Universe 2016 pageant.
The applications for Revlon Miss. Universe Sri Lanka opened in June 2016, calling all single young women between the ages of 18 and 27 to come forward to represent our country at the 66th anniversary of the Miss. Universe Pageant.
The finals of the Revlon Miss. Universe Sri Lanka pageant will take place on the 16th of August, at the Hilton Colombo, Sri Lanka.
While beauty is definitely a key criterion, the women who will represent Sri Lanka will have to be savvy, goal-oriented and aware. It also takes a lot of courage and determination to be a winner, all key attributes that will set Sri Lanka’s representative apart from her fellow contestants from across the globe.
“There is a lot of work that goes into making a suitable candidate for Miss. Universe and we will do our best within the short space of time we have to the main pageant in USA in December,” says Miss. Universe’s Sri Lanka representative, Mrs. Rosita Wickremesinghe.
“In addition to the wardrobe and makeup, we work with the girls in the run-up to the event, training them in personal grooming, etiquette, social skills and many other areas to ensure the girls are well rounded before they represent the country at this level.”

The winner of this year’s Revlon Miss. Universe Sri Lanka will be flown to USA for three weeks, courtesy of the Miss. Universe Sri Lanka organisation Essential Entertainment, and will also receive a full wardrobe designed by Michael Wijesuriya.
Contestants from more than 86 countries around the world will travel to USA for almost a month of activities leading up to the live telecast. They will be judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview, as they vie for the coveted title of Miss Universe 2016.
Miss Marianne Page, Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2014/2015, will crown her successor at the conclusion of the event. Will Sri Lanka produce its first ever Miss. Universe in 2016?
